Make It

 Hello I'm Lesley ,

I'm a fairy with an ology….."Fairydollogy".  A jack of all trades, skilled in none  sort of fairy!

I like making things using all manner of materials. I like to gleam from nature and I love recycling.

I like nothing more than to scavenge through other peoples "rubbish" I don't mean their bins but what they would take to the  dump/jumble because they no longer have a use for it, I'm a bit of a magpie for shiny things even if they re broken. These items go into my "pretty" things boxes. I also have a few boxes of "I'm sure that will come in useful one day". I don't like to see things go to waste, so I hang onto things until I can find a new home for them or use them. I could do with a bigger house with lots of storage space, my little emporium, he he.

I say I need a bigger house because I also share my house with Belle my dog and Bootz the cat. They follow me around all the time, if I go upstairs, one of them will come up with me, if I go downstairs yep they come back down, can be a bit tricky when having a re-shuffle which quite often happens if I've had a good day at the jumble (naughty me). I call it my "retail therapy day".

I like to grow flowers , fruit and vegetables, I don't have a garden but I am able to potter around in my parents garden. The robins come and watch me plant and weed, I talk to them all the time. This year I have sown some everlasting flowers, I haven't grown these for a long time, I'm quite excited!  At the moment  I'm up to my neck with red currants so I'm making jams and jellies which I have never done before this could be very interesting!

A few evenings ago, I took Belle for a walk. We went up through the woods which bring you out to fields of crops and what did I see, a Hare, magic! I think I was lucky Belle didn't see it, mind you she was too busy sniffing the ground and I was looking across the field, phew!

Last night with the beautiful full moon glowing up in the sky, Bootz was having a ball, firstly he bought home a mouse, then he bought home a very large moth (some kind of Hawk moth) which I managed to get hold of and put it back outside not once but TWICE, after the first time Bootz bought it back, I made sure he wasn't going to do it a again!

I find there are never enough hours in the day or night for that matter, yes the night time can hold just as much magic as the day. I love to sit outside beneath the sky of stars and watch as we dance through the universe. We have a Luna Eclipse coming up soon, not sure if we will be able to see it, will have to check whereabouts in the sky its taking place.

Here I go again, off on another tangent!!!

Time fly's when you're having fun!

Just as I got over the flu I remembered I was to share a stall at an event in Milton Keynes the first weekend of December, so I had to set about making some things to sell. Two weeks of beads, threads, pretty gleanings and bits and bobs resulted in Tree Fairy's, Fairy Wishes and Fairy Good Luck Bottles, phew!  Should have seen the state of my house when I left for the weekend he he but I didn't care, it was also my birthday weekend. I had a lovely time, meeting old friends I hadn't see for a while and made new ones. I think the fairy's had a good time and some of them went to new homes, to spread their fairy magic!

When I got back from Milton Keynes I then had 2 weeks to make 3 quilts for Yule gifts, so it was a quick tidy up and then pull out a different set of materials to play with… more mess ha ha!

My trip back down to Milton Keynes for Yule was a bit manic to say the least, but it did look lovely with all the snow. After 3 days visiting family and friends it was back home to make my mothers gift, even more mess…..

Christmas day was spent quietly with my parents, the only noise was from all the dogs and all they wanted was to play in the snow but they wanted me to play with them, well couldn't refuse could I……

As New Year approached thought I had better start tidying up the house again, easier said than done. I have managed to tidy up the little room where I store a lot of my craft materials, I can at least get in there now.

I have been back and fore the garden to check on things in the greenhouse, luckily I covered the plants with fleece. The winter veg that's outside seem to be ok too. Been making lists of things I want to grow and been looking at seed catalogues. The new season is upon us, have you noticed how the light is coming back, isn't it wonderful!

Just waiting for Imbolc and snowdrops…..in the meantime I'm making another quilt for a birthday present for one of my granddaughters then I'll be getting my hands dirty in the garden, oh what fun!

2010 has begun – have fun – enjoy the magic
